On my 2017 I loaded up as well. Integrated Wiring, 2nd Bilge Pump, Changed out to Lowrance with full NEMA Kit ordered with Point 1, C Channel Trailer, Rigid Back Up lights, Radio with Remote, Padded Deck and Cooler Lid, and Velocity Wheels. I really like my 721 I would have liked a 920 as well but the $$ difference loaded up made the 721 make sense. I came from a TR-196 and TR-21 I can tell you from a TR-21 front is definitely wider. TR-196 about the same. Only thing I would change would be I would not have gotten the large bow step on the trailer if I had know about the Trick Step when ordering. I bought it from MPM before the arrival of my boat and before his factory deal for my wife. Best thing ever I use it all the time.

I get it. I had a much longer opinion typed that weighed what might be important to each person in a boat purchase- with money spent/credit/loans being one of them. After reading it several times I thought there was a possibility that someone might get butthurt and deleted it. I've spent a lot of time in 921, 721, and my 920 and they're all awesome boats but there is absolutely value in the differences of the three.

So Where is the 5" of length on the 721? If I'm understanding this correctly, the 920 is longer from the TM to the back edge of the front deck, but the boats are the same length from the seat post to the front of the boat. My understanding is that from the console back, the boats are the same. The old measurements in the pinned post, shows the length being on the front deck.

Length of boat not deck. The 721 is a longer boat so it spans bigger waves. The 920 will not span as big of waves. The 921 will span the biggest waves but at the cost of loss of speed, and fuel consumption. In my opinion the 721 is the sweet spot in the Phoenix line, and you can order it to have every single thing you can put in a 9 series.

The length has to be somewhere, that's what I'm saying. Yes the boat is longer, but the length has to be present somewhere. In the old pinned post, it shows the additional length being on the front deck, letter "D" on the measurements. But the new measurements nearly disproves there being a length difference at all, especially on the front deck.

Buy what you can afford and what makes you happy for your fishing style. That is the beauty of different models. All boats will have advantages and disadvantages. For me and my style the 920 is damn near bassboat perfection. Very nimble and fishes docks and close quarter areas with ease yet large enough for me to run the Great Lakes. The boat performs like a rocket!.. maneuverability, handling and wave re-entry is unreal for a bass boat. Personally I like a wider front deck and a high gunwale yet some might not want any gunwale at all. The 721 is probably the best bang for the buck, however after comparing upgrades to standard features the price gap can close quite a bit. Also a few inches is not going to make or break a ride in “rough water”... hull design is really what is important on a bass boat. If one boat has more freeboard, then it may have less “splash over” while fishing waves however will typically create more of a sail effect in the wind. All things to consider... In the end you really can’t go wrong with a Phoenix, I drive high performance boats for a living and have owned and driven all different brands. Phoenix build and quality is on top of the bass boat industry.

It could be in the cockpit area. I see what you mean though

It's in the nose. The "point" in the bow is longer on the 721

Part of this is the new bow shroud introduced on the 17 721 and PHX extends farther into the deck than the other. So if you take your measurement in the center behind the shroud of a the old or 920 Style versus the new style there is the difference.

Either will fit. I have a 721 with a 10" Atlas and 2S ProXS and I have 16-20" in my 24'10" garage bay. No way that the 4S models are that much longer. When I decide to trade, I will be looking at another 721 with the new 4S ProXS!!
