Me too! Bought a mini guide from Cabela's. Hated it. Took it back and exchanged it for a baitcast rod. I couldn't get near the distance I felt I should have been getting. Seems like all the manufacturers have gone that route. Too bad. The extra .005 oz. of the bigger guides never bothers me.
i have thought about taking one of my rods and have the big eyes put on it
Daiwa has all big eye spinning rods . I am a fan of it. I think it is needed to taper the line . I am sure some of these companies don't test anything. They just make it and think it will sell.
Dobyns spinning guides are regular size (not micro or semi-micro).

Two things, St. Croix Avids, not Avid-X, have regular guides. The other is a youtube video at FujikogyoCoLtd I tried to link that and wasn't able to.
thanks guys,i was watching the elites yesterday and a lot of them use the big eyed rods, but if your drop shooting i guess it would not matter because your not cast much,i am still going back to the big eyed rods
