    spinning rods with the old style big eyes on them

    i see some of the pro guys still use the spinning rods with the big eyes on them, but i have not seen any in any store,i still like the big eyed spinning rods better

    Me too! Bought a mini guide from Cabela's. Hated it. Took it back and exchanged it for a baitcast rod. I couldn't get near the distance I felt I should have been getting. Seems like all the manufacturers have gone that route. Too bad. The extra .005 oz. of the bigger guides never bothers me.

    Daiwa has all big eye spinning rods . I am a fan of it. I think it is needed to taper the line . I am sure some of these companies don't test anything. They just make it and think it will sell.

    Dobyns spinning guides are regular size (not micro or semi-micro).

    Two things, St. Croix Avids, not Avid-X, have regular guides. The other is a youtube video at FujikogyoCoLtd I tried to link that and wasn't able to.

    thanks guys,i was watching the elites yesterday and a lot of them use the big eyed rods,but if your drop shooting i guess it would not matter because your not cast much,i am still going back to the big eyed rods
