    Adjusting trailer brakes

How can you tell if your trailer brake shoes are adjusted right? when they are right and you spin the wheel how many time should it spin? I now you will get some drag but how much?

What I do. Inspect the condition of the shoes and drums. Tighten the adjusters (presuming they will work) until the drum doesn't move. Hit the drum a couple of times with a hammer, or if the wheel is on and pretty, hit the backing plate. Loosen the adjusters until the wheel spins with just a slight noise, assuming the drums aren't warped. Tap the drum again, if all sounds the same you're usually good to go. If you start with the shoes too tight a mile or so will let you know if you feel excessive heat or smell brake lining. If so, un-adjust a few clicks.
