Helix 9 DI & 10 SI GN 1 GPS Transducer Question

I just replaced my 10” Helix SI GN1 with 15” Solix MEGA SI at the console. I want to switch the front 9” Helix GN1 DI with the 10” to have a bigger screen. Will the DI transducer that is mounted on my trolling motor work on the 10” SI unit? The SI transducer is a thru hull that Ranger mounted in the step so I don’t plan on removing it.

Short term use, yes.
Long time use, no.
Your 10" Helix SI unit doesn't have Down Imaging and no circuit for Down Imaging separate from SI. It has composite DI created by blending the two SI pulses.
Connecting a DI transducer to a SI unit has the DI crystal connected to the right side SI circuit. The left side SI pulse will be broadcasting on an unloaded circuit and can damage the unit processor over time.

Would you buy a new si transducer for the 10” Helix, mount to TM to get a larger screen up front or keep the 9” di? Is the di the same as the di from the si transducer?

The first generation Helix SI units do not have DI, just DI views. They have composite DI created by blending the two SI pulses.
A DI unit's transducer has a DI crystal.

Thanks Wayne, I guess keep the 9 or buy another Solix if I want a larger screen.
