    Lake Kincaid Question

Anyone fish Kincaid in the summer? I have a buddy down in St Louis that said he heard the grass ran out to around 6-8 feet of water. He is asking me if the grass is matted on top or subsurface like hydrilla or eelgrass. Unfortunately I've never fished this lake and would like to give him some info if possible.

    Thanks,
    Waldo

    Hi Waldo

I have not fished Kinkaid this summer but have fished it a lot in prior summers.

The grass does go out 6 - 8 feet if not a little further in places. Also, there are a some harder rock areas where the grass isnt. There are trees in the lake in several of the coves. There is a hump called "the boxcars" down towards the dam that worms are a good choice on. Johnson creek I have always done well in. It has some nice areas that are narrower and have some nice drop offs.

Here is the rub on the grass: Most of the grass does have some "snot" on top, which makes it a pain at times. The subsurface grass is hydrilla of some sort. Tends to be easily pulled up.
