    Dock Rash Remover?

I had my boat docked at the lake for a weekend and I guess with some of the wind and boat traffic, I got a decent bit of dock rash on the side. I had my buoys out, but I think with the power company dropping the water levels at night, the buoys became ineffective as they were too low.

It's not scratched, but it's like a white film going down the side of the boat. Some of it I could get with my fingernails, but now I can't seem to get any of it off.

Any ideas on what to use to remove it without damaging the gelcoat?

WD40 and/or acetone. Follow up with polish or wax of your choice. Nice looking rig. Like that color combo a lot.

    Wax will take it off.

Try a light rubbing compound like 3M Finese It. Then wax.

The 3M finesse it looks pretty good but dang, 30 bucks for like 16 oz?

Anybody used WD40 before with good results and no problems with gel coat or oxidation?

I used WD40 to remove road tar with no ill effects. Give it a shot.

I like your color combo as well. It's exactly the same as mine.

Your wife, or GF's fingernail polish remover. I have the exact same boat as yours, and yes i have used it all over the boat. Its works like magic and has no effect what so ever on the finish.

If you decide on the 3M products. I use the Marine Compound and Finishing Material or the Perfect It 2...I’ll send you a little of each. I buy both 5 gallons at a time for the shop. Just lemme know....
