    Mega imaging transducer placement for 1999 186

    Could someone show me a picture of where they mounted the humminbird mega si transducer on there champ similar to this one?

    My side imaging ducer is mounted exactly where your 2d is located, remember you're only going to use it at idle and not up on plane. So I also mounted a 2d inside so I still get depth readings on plane. You could mount it on the opposite side above the step so nothing in the water will hit it.

    I don't have a jackplate. I'm worried about my motor being in the way when I'm trimmed down. Someone has to have a similar boat with a mega tranducer on.

    You could mount a stern saver to the top of the step and then you wouldn't have to worry about your motor being in the way but I would be worried about it striking something in the water column. And fyi I had mine mounted in the same location prior to having a plate and ran it all year like that with no issues with the hdsi ducer.
