    Removing passenger console help

Anyone got any tips for removing a passenger console with out the glue ripping the gel coat off? Surely there’s a solvent or something to break that stuff down instead of just ripping and hoping for the best lol

I've never done this, but.....one day I watched some guys remove large mirrors that were tightly glued onto the wall. They used a "hot-wire". You might check with a mirror place to get info.

I just removed mine this week and I used some wedges and had planned on using acetone or MEK but before i could the damn thing popped right off. damage is less than i expected but now I am looking at either getting the gel coat repaired or just creating a a trim piece out of Sea Deck or some type of plating and covering it with a vinyl wrap. My boat is a 07' Skeeter ZX 225. I can email some pictures if you'd like.
