    Prop to pad measurement

I have a 2011 199 with a 225 ProXS. Has a 26 pitch Fury. Not sure on the setup. Only getting around 5200 RPM. With very little lift. How is most of these setup? Not running real heavy load. Just looking for a rough number of prop to pad setting?

I think the first thing I would check is the engine. A 191 is only rated for 200HP and your running a 225. I have a 199 with 225 pro XS and the guy I bought it from had a 4 1'4" PTP with a 27" Tempest and the boat would turn 5600 rpm and get out of the hole fine. Now running a 25 Fury/ 3 3/4" PTP and it's a different animal. A 191 with a 225 should have no trouble turning a 26 Fury.

Sorry this should be a 199. The engine is fine. The prop to pad is 4 inches. This engine wants to give it. It just has no lift.

Pretty sure mine is about 3.25-3.5" on my 199. I run a 25 Fury or a 26 Tempest. They both run about 5700 RPM.

My 08 199 225 opti is set at 3- 3/4" prop to pad
i am now running a 25 fury 3 blade with no vent plugs in it
Great hole shot and i can hit around 5600 at 70 mph by my self . Cant go that fast with 2 big guys and livewell full
26 tempest i can hit 74 but no holeshot. I like the 25 fury on it.

The sweet spot on the LE and Alpha models is 3.25" - 3.75" generally

    I have a 2012 199 with a 225 E-Etec set at 3.25", it came with a 26p prop..too much. The best combo I got was with the 25p Fury.

26 Fury is too much prop. 25 Fury or 25 Tempest are my go-to props at sea level. I'm at about 3.5".

I have a 2016 199 with a 225 Pro XS, was getting 69.9mph on GPS @ 5450 RPM on SmartCraft with a Fury 25P at 3.5 below the pad. In the process of getting a 24P to try. Note- I tried it at 3" below yesterday and saw no speed or RPM increase. Thinking that's more of a sign to drop one pitch size. Holeshot seemed a touch faster but otherwise no difference I could feel.

    3 1/2"
    25 Fury, no plugs
    jumps out the hole
5800 R's easy, trim it up
    handles like a sports car

hot and muggy - 70 mph --- takes some driver input
cool and lower humidity - 70 mph takes very little input, 72-73 if I work at it
either way, 65 mph nice and smooth
