I think I broke my new Talon

I've got a 3 month old BT 12 foot Talon. The other day it decided that after I deploy it and it hits bottom or gets to maximum deployment in the middle of the lake, the motor keeps running and making a god awful thunking sound. The only way to make it stop is to hit the up button. If I were to not manually stop it I think it would keep running and grinding until the batteries die.

Any idea what my problem is? I plan to take it to the authorized service guy in town when he gets back from vacation. I'm just wondering if there's a chance it's something simple.
