    TR19 set up

Have a buddy that has a 98 TR19 with a 10 inch manual jack Plate and a 175 Optimax. What prop to pad measurement and what prop should he try. Thanks

Anybody have any thoughts ? I think 10 inch set back is two much. Struggling to find a prop that will give hole shot and speed . Currently running 25 tempest and hole shot is not good.

My buddy had a tr19 with the 175 Mariner, he ran a 10inch atlas and a 24 tempest with added cup and 25 tempest.. he ran 68mph by himself and 66-67mph loaded with both of us..

Try a 25 trophy if it will turn it and your right 8" would be more than enough set back. Prop to pad 3" and up.

I've only got a 6" plate but I'm about 2.75"-3" below the pad. My holeshot is real good and top end is pretty good for a 150hp. I'm running a 25p prop on a Yamaha. That Opti may have taller gears tough, mine are 2:1. I'm running a 1999 Tr-19.

whats your top end loaded? And exactly how far below the pad. 1/4 can make a huge diff. Mine is a complete dog. Needs attention badly!

I'll have to measure again to get within a 1/4" for you cause I can't remember off the top of my head but my top end right now in the heat is 61mph.

I figured out most of the problem. I’m 4.5 inches below the pad. That and my prop is a little nasty. I’m going to raise the engine on the plate and try a 23 Tempest plus. I think a 25 might be a bit much.

Are you running a 3 blade prop?

2000 TR19 175 Merc EFI, 3 blade 24P Tempest plus, Dual Power poles, 2-3/4 PTP. 6" JP, 64 MPH solo (I weigh 210) with 1/2 tank of gas and wells empty. 2-3 seconds to get on plane, fill one well and 3-4 seconds, fill both wells 4-5 seconds, add 200# co-angler 5-6 seconds, heavy rain that soaks boat 10 seconds... 24P 4 blade does help on hole shot and slow speed porpoising but hurts top end 2 MPH.
