Jack fruit is somewhat of a staple in the vegan or vegetarian diet. My sister-in-law is vegan and has cooked it for our family before. She did a jack fruit pulled pork sandwich. My honest opinion was that it was really really good. I actually had seconds. Keep in mind, I am a carnivore.

My daughter has made some BBQ jack fruit for a Memorial day party last year and fooled some people, they thought it was meat. I thought it was ok. Don't think I could eat it as a weekly diet.
