    Question 1980 prop?

I just bought a 1980 with a 150g2 on it. The boat came with 25p raker on it. I have a 6” atlas jackplate. I’m only getting 52mph. My rpms are around 5300. Should I be putting on a 24p?

You are one of the first to play with that....

Have you fiddled with the prop to pad height yet and checked water pressure?

If not then I would start there before I change props....

The 1980 with a 150 g2 I saw had a 24p Raker II on it. I would contact dealer or Vexus. They should take care of it. These are packaged with a prop from Vexus.

I have the 1980 with a mercury fourstroke not the proxs. But I am seeing a consistent 58 loaded. I ran it empty and saw the same numbers. But I’m running a 23 tempest and running 5700rpms.

My 1980 has the Mercury ProXS and I also have a tempest prop but not sure of the pitch. It’s a 3 blade and I can run 58 easy. Today actually touched 60 mph very briefly at WFO. Seems like the 1980’s are easily running 58 mph.

So I should see the same with the 1980 c.c.
Same hull as the bass boat.

I would think so, but they each have their own personality’s. Should be wild ride in standing position. 58 is moving!!!
