    RT198 seats

Has anyone had a driver seat come loose?
And how do you tried it down?
    Thanks

Man, thats gonna be a tough one. You will have to remove the whole piece that the seat mounts to because it mounts from the underneath. Screws across the bottom lip into the floor and screws across the top back lip into the deck have to be removed to get it out. Once that is done you can flip it over and re-install the screws into the seat bottom. With help, should be about an hour project. Oh, and you should have some SS screws on hand to replace the soft aluminum ones that Ranger uses.

Push really hard from the front of the seat towards the back and lift up on the seat cushion at the same time. Its just two brackets that slip into a two holes on the bottom plastic part of the seat cushion. For the back rest remove the center part of the cushion to access the 3 screws behind the cushion. The center part of the back rest is just heavy duty velcro. I found all this out after a few beers while installing my Merc Monitor in my RT198P. LOL

Hopefully the clip holding the bottom cushion is just bent out and needs to bent back with some pliers. If not removing the cover over the fuel tank is really easy. Just a few screws ans she comes right out.

I bought the fuel/oil wire harness and hooked it up to the fuel level sender unit on the fuel tank to be able to view the fuel level the mercmonitor and the HDS.

Gotcha, is it pretty accurate for reading the fuel level? I ran a merc monitor on my 198 also over the winter, pretty easy install!
