+1. I'd like to see the Ultrex offered with no transducer at all. If you take the time to run the transducer wires correctly the first time, you should be trouble free. Also purchasing a sonar cable guard is a minimal fee compared to having an internal transducer replaced.

If they don't have an option for low q, they are making a big mistake. It is their top of the line 2D/DI transducer. Once you use low q, you will never go back. Also creates an incentive to buy higher end Solix units.

If it's MDI, COUNT on the low Q full spectrum Chirp - the transom version is barely bigger than the standard DI XDCR.

I'd bet a small amount of money on that!

Something I did to eliminate this cable issue all together and no zip ties....SI mega shield and saver tm bracket with the stock transducer. Take the head off the shaft and slide it out, run the cable up the flat spot on the shaft and silicone, slide the assembly back up the middle... works like factory and no extra cable loops or zip ties. I can’t take the credit, there’s a walleye guy that posted a video on YouTube doing this on a terrova and it worked perfectly on my ultrex. I’ll try to find the video and post some pictures of my installation.

The Helix CHIRP MEGA DI units also have the MDI transducer in the transom and trolling motor versions.

True but this article was released on 7/7/18 yet the suspense photo of a bare foot has a 7/11/18 date. If you've already split the beans then put the right picture on the teaser image.

Question. If you had a Solix SI, Ultrex with the built on DI ducer, and 360 could you get DI from the built on and 360 & SI from the 360 transducer? Not familiar with the Solix but if I remember right a GPS Onix would get SI/DI and 360 from a 360 transducer, would a GPS Solix get DI from the new DI equipped TM and SI and 360 from a 360 transducer?
