Since they also have an I-pilot link APP .... Seems like they are going to make the I-pilot Link Bluetooth.

One of my suggestions is that they have the DI units come standard with the trolling motor version of the transducer to prevent the hassle of having to swap it ... I'll bet at least 75% of the DI units go on the bow. Guess they solved that a different way.
Now wondering if you will be able to buy the Mega DI units without a transducer.

It does say the onix is compatible but I only assume it has to be networked with a solix.

Since the ONIX has 455 kHz and 800 kHz just like the MEGA DI transducer does and has the High CHIRP setting for the 2D crystal, it should work directly, just not auto detect to change the 2D setting.

You definitely can display Dual Spectrum 2D on an ONIX when a SOLIX is set as the 2D source using the MEGA DI transducer.

With the MEGA DI transducer connected to the ONIX, you get the 140-240 kHz 2D range but do not get the Narrow and Wide choices in the sonar view menu like you do with a SOLIX. It certainly will not add the MEGA frequency to the ONIX though.

Just did the above two setups. This is the ONIX with the MEGA DI transducer connected:

Do you think it will be a low Chirp Q transducer?

Wonder if the larger looking size is a result of more space for shielding.
Sort of looks like the transom MEGA DI transducer that is larger than the regular transom DI transducer???????

the way that is designed it wouldn't be hard to make it as an upgrade for existing us2 trolling motors, but I highly doubt they would be that nice to existing customers. more profit to make everyone buy a whole new motor to get this feature, especially for the ulterra users !

If I were buying new to outfit a new boat, I'd buy it.

To replace my us2 ulterra and bow unit (just chirp GPS, gets imaging from console unit)? Nope. Not worth that upgrade IMO.

agreed, as a typical transducer upgrade might be worth it but not a whole new unit

Looks mighty handy but don't forget what it takes to replace that internal xducer when it shits the bed.
Lot more involved than two clamps and some zip ties.

My internal xducer on my Maxxum 101 didn't last til the water got hot. Year and a half maybe. Found out what it took to replace it and the cost. Then I put a puck on it.

Probably would be the most beneficial with the Terrova, Power Drive, and Ulterra due to cable management issues.

A quick disconnect inside the lower unit would be nice.

+1. I'd like to see the Ultrex offered with no transducer at all. If you take the time to run the transducer wires correctly the first time, you should be trouble free. Also purchasing a sonar cable guard is a minimal fee compared to having an internal transducer replaced.

I think mine's 11 years old (not sure exactly) but it hasn't needed any major parts yet - but having a Deep V I usually keep the motor out of the chunky stuff unlike some o' ya'all....
