    94 PII bass cat

I have a 94 PII basscat that has a 91 XR4 150. I got a really good deal on a 175 XRI with a CLE lower unit. What would be a good prop to try and start with? I have a 23P tempest plus but I afriad that wheel is going to be to small.

That tempest should run good in hot weather, might can run a little more when it cools down. Run it then you'll know.

Thanks Pat I figured I would put it on there and see where is ran at. My 150 will turn it out to 5800 pretty easy.

    Time out.
XR4 came standard with the smaller midrange lower unit.
If it’s still on there the props won’t interchange.

If he is turning the tempest on the 150, obviously, it doesn't have the small 4.25" gear case on it.

I am sure it's a large gearcase, but...better to make sure before mistakes are made.

    Good...very good.
Ran that tempest and see what it does. A 25 is the right prop with a 200, the little man might have some issues trying to turn that much prop.
If you're a little high on rpms, a good prop guy can adjust what you've got to exactly what you need.
