I remember when you just used your bumper and never had any problems. Never saw a truck with a hitch.

14500lbs is the tow capacity of the 2500HD conventional ball hitch tow with the duramax. The stabilizer is not required. It is definitely over if it is 15K, that limit also includes anything extra that has been thrown in the bed of the truck. The load looks balanced well due the truck is not squatting, nor is the hitch riding way high. These are the two thing that contribute the most to trailer sway. He needs needs a 3500 HD to be within spec. He could be written up for the overload condition , if he was pulled over and weighed heavy. A Highway Patrolman can pull you over for suspected condition.
On a load like that, the truck is not what stops it, it is the trailer breaks. I would suggest giving clearance to anyone pulling a load, I dont care how big or small it is. I hate idiots that think I left space between me and the guy in front of me for them to jump into.

I agree with that sentiment 100%! Even with my small boat I leave space for me to stop. I don’t have trailer brakes and I’m only pulling a small boat but hell, I just put new rotors and pads on so I want my brakes to last!

I agree, his truck was riding level, no squat and he didn’t have airbags or helper springs. It was shocking to me but my normal and other people’s normal are 2 different things.

Looks like a 36' Yellowfin. With tripple 300's and only 150-200 gallons of fuel they weigh around 12k
