- Solas 21p prop
- Engine mounted on middle hole
- Hull has tabs
- Boat with full tank of fuel, no gear, driver only - 48.5 mph by GPS

I wouldn't change anything, those are good numbers for that boat.

You're set. Mine came with a 21 Solas and the steering torque was awful. I'll have to try it again since moving motor to Hole#3.

Question for you? What kind of RPM's are you turning with that Solas? Do you know which Solas it is? A titan? Finally I am assuming you have the pro xs command thrust 4stroke?
I appreciate the input

I turned 5400 at Hole #2.

Thats pretty good. Thats what I get with the same prop. I have the set back plate, though. I've gone back and forth about changing props and all that but in the end it really won't get much better than it is already.
That's what mine does on a day with probably cooler temperatures than you have . I have a Laser 2 20P on it and do about 5900 RPMS. If you are doing that this time of year with the temperatures you have in Texas, I would not touch anything. You did not list the RPMs and the only caveat I have is to make sure you are close to the max RPMs at wide open.
You will love the boat and how it fishes when you drop the trolling motor and how stable it is up front. If the RPMs are decent, I wouldn't touch anything and go catch fish.

With the boat loaded with all my gear, approx. 450 lb worth of humans, I was turning 5600 RPMs with a top speed of 45-46. The motor is not the Command Thrust and not sure exactly what Solas model is on there. I had it out Toledo Bend this weekend and I am very impressed with this boat. It did not disappoint at all.
