    2013 Z7

I just bought a 2013 Nitro Z7 with a 150 Merc 4 stroke and it has a Guest 4/4 two bank onboard charger. Was told it came that way. Question: Why would a boat with 3 batteries come with a two bank charger? Do you set it up to charge the 2 trolling motor batteries and depend on the outboard to keep the start battery charged? Help please

A two bank charger is standard. It is connected to the trolling bats. When I got home I just connected another charger to the starting battery. When my onboard charger went out I installed a MK 3 bank charger.

My 2015 came with a 2 bank as well, guess they expect your gas engine to charge the battery while you run. My battery was also under powered for the engine, came with an Interstate group 24 that didn't meet the minimum requirements set by Mercury for the Optimax Pro XS, would get low voltage alarms after only a few hours. Switch it out to a 100AH RELiON and never looked back as well as upgraded to a 3 bank charger.
