    Which oil burns cleaner

I have a 2003 OX 66 200. I am using QuickSilver Synthetic oil. I was wanting to hear from some of you guys with more experience, if there is a cleaner burning oil. I appreciate your responses.

Others have posted in the past that the penzoil synthetic burns cleaner. I know the yamalube does tend to foul plugs and carbon buildup more on the O2 sensor

Penzoil burns real clean. I have a 4 cycle outboard now so I obviously I don't use it anymore. But when I had the 2 cycle it was noticeably cleaner with a lot less smell with little to no smoke. Plugs burnt a lot cleaner and the prop hub had a lot less carbon build up.

Sierra makes a full synthetic no smoke formula that I use in mine. Burns very clean and no probs that I've found

Switched from Yamalube to Pennzoil XLF this spring and it burns way cleaner. Less than a gallon in and prop is clean and less smoke during startup.

I run XLF also. $16 a gallon and I have almost zero carbon anywhere in my motor. Full synthetic may burn cleaner, but unless you are running it against the limiter all the time, I really don’t see the need for the additional cost.

I sell that stuff to some local marinas...and my HPDI is low low on oil right now. So I think I will switch over to it....
My plugs are always wet and oily, even after running full blast! <<yamalube.

Did the switch this evening to AMSOIL HP MARINE full synthetic. Main oil tank had only an inch or so of Yamalube in it, filled it with 2 gallons of Amsoil and the tank on the engine I drained back into the main tank then used the switch to fill it from the main tank.

That Amsoil is thinner than the Yamalube!

As a side note, the water catch on the engine tank had a 1/4" of water in it....
