Thanks ASPB, esdbass.

Life is an adventure, and getting this boat was no exception.

I couldn't afford a new rig, so in May 2002 my bro and I drove from SE Wisconsin to Nampa Idaho with our 89 Stratos 275Pro / Merc ProMax in tow. Denny Burrow took my boat in trade at Tristate Marine and we turned around and headed back to WI with the '99 Stroker. We managed a quick trip thru Yellowstone and got a few pics of the new rig with buffalo, deep snow and mountains in the background. 3,600 miles in less than 3 full days... Crazy.

What a guy won't do to go fishing.

Regarding the motor, I drove the boat down to Selma Alabama last April for a MAD EFI complete rebuild. it's amazing what Wayne Taylor can get out of a motor. And I can even run 87 octane if I need to, which is key for our remote Canada trips. He made a simple cap that retards WOT timing about 4 degrees. Still runs just about as fast w/retarded timing, but it doesn't accelerate quite as hard. Can't wait till spring so Frankenstein can live again!
