    USA INTERNAL DEBATE?

I am having an internal debate...lol

Buy a 2017 Z-19 with 60ish hours...HDS 7 and 9 both GEN 3 with Sonic hub and Point one Antenna....dual axle trailer, MK FORTRX 80, padded front deck...

or wait and order new 18 or 19......

    Figure I am saving 5 to 6K of similar equipped 2018 Z-19?

Dont want to make the mistake of getting an 18 and wanting something bigger....I fish in SE VA mostly, but do goto Lake Kerr and Gaston with occassional James n once in blue moon Potomac

If you want a 2 stroke, you will have to buy used or find a leftover. If you want the new 4 stroke you will have to order new. I have heard the new motors are quite a bit more expensive.

Posted prices are only a few hundred more. Maybe that is "quite a bit more" to some. I think its very reasonable.

Does 37 K seem like a fair price...I priced out an 18 with same motor and options came out to 43K

Remember you buying a 2 Model year old boat, could be 3 years old. Fair depends on alot of other variables, motor warranty?

So the 19 has a 175 on it? If so then 37k is to me on the high side. At 43 for a 18 think I would be pricing a 19 with a 200.

I'm just going by when you said same motor. A 18 is rated for a 175.
When I bought my 19 I got it plain just the tandem trailer, padded deck, hot foot and got it March of 2017 out the door 41k. I put my graphs on and my 2 talons myself. A lot cheaper then Tracker setting it up.

Love them they are awesome. They are so helpful. I use them all the time. As far as pics I can't figure out how to put them on here. But they did not hurt the performance of the boat. Still gets out of the hole quick and with two guys still will hit 66-68 with the right water.

Every MLF I've ever seen they are running Z18s, not Z19s.

What works for me may not be right for you but I would take the 2017 Z19 with 60 hours over a brand new Z18 and here is why....boats take a big hit in value the first few years then they slowly lose their value. Let the first owner take the big hit. Plus at 60 hours if there was any "new boat bugs" more than likely they have surfaced and been addressed. The motor still has 23 months of warranty so that is more than enough time to make sure it is not a lemon. I would want to talk to the person who bought the boat new and ask him personally about the boat. If it's at dealer inquire and see if they can give you the previous owners phone number. I bought a 1999 boat with 62 hours in 2001. They guy who sold it took a massive hit. He never mentioned it but after I bought the boat I know exactly what he gave for it new because I found the paperwork in a storage box. I did not know this person but I talked so someone and found out he is the type of guy who goes through a phase and buys new "toys", get bored and sells them to go onto another new hobby. I had no fear why he was selling a boat that was just starting to get good and broke in.

Plus bigger is not always better but the extra size and horsepower that comes with a Z19 verses a Z18 would be beneficial to me. 17 years ago when I bought my boat I was looking for something in the 19-20 ft range with 200-225 hp. I settled on 18'9" with 150 HP but only because I got a good deal. The three lakes I fish most of the time are not considered rough water lakes. If I were fishing rough water lakes all the time I would want 20 or 21 ft just for the ride. If I were in the market today I would look for 19-20 ft but not because I regret what I have. It would be because 1-2 more ft and 50-75 more horsepower would be an option I would like to have. With like being the key word not need. Again what works for me may not work for you but this is my opinion.
