Chris Bailey Foil
I posted about this several months ago and just have just not pulled the trigger on getting one. I also cannot locate the thread. I have a 2017 V20 with merc 250. In water that is rough or with a bunch of boat wakes it seems I have to either (a) run at about 28 mph with very little trim. Like .8 to 1.2 on the smart craft gauge or (b) run 35 or higher with a little less control and close to 2 on the trim gauge. Otherwise the boat likes to bounce or porpoise. I think at least one of you are running his foil and responded before.
I would like to hear your experiences using the foil and in particular the benefits you have seen other than being able to keep on plane at slower speeds. Any info on at what trim point/number on the smart craft gauge do you feel the foil is out of the water and loses its effect would help me evaluate. I know there is a point at which its effect drops off but just not sure if just a little trim affects it or if it takes like 2, 3 or 4 on the trim gauge. Any other thought would be appreciated as well. If you hate posting call me 317-409-5468. Thanks. Tim

Not a Legend, but I can say on my Skeeter, the foil has helped keep my stern more planted in rough water and improved the ride. It also improved porpoising at slow speeds. I was skeptical about how much difference it would make, but it was significant.

Would not own a V20 without one.
