    Lost another one!

    Took my cover off my 1198 yesterday to briefly scan a spot and laid it beside me. Once again I forgot and took off and lost another da&$ cover. Went back and searched but couldn’t find it. Where can I get another one? I’ve done a search but can’t find anyone that shows covers for the older units.

    Lol...actually wasn’t planning on fishing. Was headed to sand bar to hang out with friends and couldn’t resist checking a spot on my way up river. Same way a lost the other cover!

    Why not get a roll of ELASTIC BAND ( black or white) and cut it so it's a snug fit - then take tape & a bit of gel super glue, bond the ends and slip that over the gimbal, they hang there when the cover is off - don't get lost and when they're' over the cover - you can save money for losing other items....

    That looks good but the fact is that my units are taken off my boat every time it’s pulled out of the water and stored in a backpack. I ALMOST never put my units on with the covers still on them. Anticipated that I might go fishing a little while late that afternoon after spending a few hours on the sand bar with friends. That’s the reason that I stuck the units on the boat and left the covers on them until I was gonna fish. I ordered a cover from MIkes but haven’t gotten any shipping information or a confirmation.

    No reason you can't leave the straps on the gimbal (I do) - wrap them if you're worried about them flying off.
