The ASX was by far the fastest Strat. The 201 Evo will roll too. I've seen 81 in my dad's before he had to swap the lower unit on his E-tec 250 HO.

ASX, Strat 200,201 evo, 294 will all go pretty good for what they are when set up right, and will go real good with bigger power behind them.

I forgot about the 294. That thing is a rocket ship for what it is. The 294 with a 200 hp motor properly set up will hurt a lot of boys with a 250s feelings.
Ok, pls fill me in on the ASX...was this a limited production thing? Have not really heard of this one

Yes. Was only built in 2003. Production was going to be limited to 100 boats, but it never made it there. $50,000 price tag in 2003. Carbon fiber stringers, small pad, cool 'molded in' seats, sports car shifter, etc. were some of the unique things that set it apart. ASX stood for Alan Stinson X Project. Would have loved to then, and would still love to now, own one. Ran well into the 80's with a 225 H.O. on the back. 1450 lbs. 89" beam.
This was a pretty good article on it....

What about the stratos 20xl velocity? Anybody remember that one?
Yes, but it was a one off. Jason Hale and I were just talking about it. It was faster, but wasn't a production boat. It was more of an ASX test boat. Last Jason heard, a guy in Kentucky had it. I know there were a few posts on here by a guy saying he had it and was redoing it. It was a sharp boat...all black carbon fiber with a little red trim. Very light boat (hull was supposedly 900 lbs) and very much a handful to drive.
This is it....

ASX are the real deal, but they are hard to find and the guys that have them are proud of them.
I almost bought that 900lb hull, but i was told that it had never lived up to its expectations and that it was very ill handling with a heavy motor.
It ran good with a Rude Ram 3.3L on it.
the guy that owned it said he had never run over 90 with a 300 merc on it. he said it was uncontrollable.
I drove it with the 3.3L Rude Ram on it. It was a handful and not for the inexperienced at all. But it would fly.
I bet it would run like hell if that 300 had a sporty and the right prop and setback. Be a fun rig to play with.

It was fun with the lightning gearcase and a 30 ASX. Was hell when you hit the rev limiter though.

But there is a SWEET 200xl with a 250 Pro XS for sale in the Springfield MO Craigslist. That baby ought to FLY!
I thought it was funny because the place that is selling it is named "Integrity Motors"
