Whats the Fastest Strat???

Well i was told that it was light, but that it never performed well in stratos tests. in fact the term i was given was "it was a bill of goods that never met expectations." but i was still tempted to make a run at buying it.
however, i cant complain with my 200 pro xl running in the 90s.

Yeah it should still be in the 80's with ease. there are a few more things that could be done, but I am on to the next project.

I don't know why a Stratos (other than the Kevlar and ASX which were light) would run any faster with a Promax. 99% of time its the other way around.

no more HP than a 225HO, Vmax, Proxs
It makes its HP at much higher RPMS (ie less HP through the lower RPMS-harder to get out of the hole)
Less torque due to its small displacement (not what you want with a 1700 lb hull)

I know too from personal experience that a sportmaster lower unit will slow you down a couple of mph in a stratos.

I have owned my asx since 04 and have had nothing but but good luck with this rig.... The boat needs a experienced driver at speeds over the high 70's other than that it is very fun. i would post a few pics but have no clue how to et them up here lol

That used to be my boat. I had it setup with 14" of setback and best I got out of it was 83.4 gps with a heavy load and full of fuel.

No problems with it being over its max rating with the 250 Merc? I know "technically" any boat over 20' is not rated by the CG. But I was curious if you had any issues?

darth, its the same transoms that they rate for 300's in the 21.
I ran up to 365 hp on 12" setbacks on my 200 pro stratos and never had one single issue. the transoms are strong.

No, I never had a problem with it. And it did not handle any different in the low 80's with the 250 than it did in the high 70's with the 225.

LOL...no, I KNOW the boat can EASILY handle the HP. I meant with things like insurance and tournament entries (if you fished them)
