    Rod repair

    Anybody know a place that repairs guides

    Mr. Don Mullins does great work. He works in the fishing department at BPS in Clarksville if you live south or go that way.

    I'd imagine there is someone in the Dayton area who would fix guides. You might check in the Ohio forum.

    Having no one around me to do it, I got some supplies from, I think, get it outdoors and do my own guide repair, pretty easy.

    I just do them in the house. Of course they don't look as good, but I have maybe 3 or 4 rods with them, and unless I'm paying attention I don't notice. If I had a way to turn the rod think I could get good results, have flex coat but it sags if not turned. Some quick fix is just some clear fingernail polish. It isn't as pretty, but I have rods that are on 4 years with it and still fine.

    Putting guides on isn't hard, can find youtube video of how. Now if you are anal about how they look, over how they function then by all means get it done by a professional.
