    Question Ulterra foot pedal question

Is there an adjustment to the Ulterra foot pedal heel/toe steering switches that can be done?

My friend has an Ulterra on his tracker targa. We used it last weekend up in northern WI and I was in the front most of the time. In order to steer using the foot pedal rocker I had to mash the toe in order to get it to turn. The heel side works fine. I'm thinking the toe switch needs to be moved up but don't want to break the pedal doing it.

    Any ideas?

I have one but do not know the answer to this question but will be following. My footpedal seems to be a little harder to steer from the toe versus the heel as well.

I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you saying it takes more force for toe down (right turn) then it does heal down (left turn). If so, using your hand and without the motor turned on, is there any slop/movement when you trying to make the toe go down. Keep in mind, with it turn off it's not going to steer, I'm just questioning movement of the toe til it "catches".

Yes, it takes a great deal more force to turn right, toe down. To the point of having to raise my heel to press harder. I will try your suggestion and let you know. Probably won’t be until weds before I can do it. Boat is kept in a barn an hour away.

Yes, it seems the toe moves further than the heel. I can push the toe until it bottoms on the base plate (if that's what it is called). Took a while to get the pedal from my friend.

Edit: I think I misread your post, Mr Jones. There is no ”slop” or freeplay just the normal spring pressure. It seems to be the same as my Terrova pedal as far as feel goes. Is there a switch under the pedal that may have come loose or needs adjustment?

Didn’t realize how easy it is to take the pedal off the foot control. Found a bunch of leaves, dried grass and small twigs under the pedal. Cleaned it all out and will give it a try later today or tomorrow. Headed to lake St Clair Saturday so we’ll see how it does.

Did cleaning the pedal of debris make any difference? If so how do you take the pedal off the foot control?
    Thanks

Yes, it did make a difference. Seems that some of the debris was keeping the pedal from making contact. All I did was flip the pedal over and remove the two screws that are inside the two springs. The pedal then lifts off. Don’t lose the screws or springs. Assemble in reverse order. Be sure to compress the springs when reinstalling the screws.
