    Talon Spike Issue

My spike wouldn’t retract yesterday while I was out so I had to remove the Talon on the water. I inspected the spike and it had split in half about 18”-20” above the tip. I can push the spike back in but it just falls right back out. The spike is really sloppy as well. It feels like it has either broken complete or whatever it attaches to has broke as well. The rest of the unit works fine( deploys and retracts). I was just curious if I could replace the spike and was curious what the spike attaches to inside the unit.

Spike replacement is easy, and they have a warranty. Not sure about the current versions, but my spike is held in place by an allen wrench set screw. Very easy to replace....instructions come with new spike.

Give Minn Kota tech support a call. They have been top notch. I think the spike is guaranteed for life.
