Sundown Showdown Tournament Rules

TEAMS & REGULATIONS
Liability Waiver: All Participants are required to sign a Liability Waiver Form.
Under 18: Requires Parent/Guardian Permission and must be paired with someone 18 years of Age or Older.
Sport License: All Participants are required to have a Valid Ontario Sport Fishing License.
Boating & Fishing: All Fishing & Boating Regulations are to be adhered to.
Drugs & Alcohol: Consumption of Drugs or Alcohol Prohibited during Tournament Hours.
Teams: Maximum 2 Person Team per Boat.

ELIGIBLE FISH
5 Fish Limit: Limit of 5 Bass may be presented for Weigh-In.
Species: Largemouth & Smallmouth Bass Only.
Length: Each Bass must measure 12” or more from Tip to Tip.
Live Release: Bass must be Alive for Weigh-in.

BOATS & EQUIPMENT
Boat & Motor: Minimum 14’ Boats Powered with no Less than 9.9 HP Engine (Inboard or Outboard acceptable).
Watercraft & Power: PWC (Kayaks, Canoes, Sea-Doo’s etc.) are Not Permitted.
Live Wells: Running Live Well Required. Must meet or exceed Specifications in Ontario Fishing Regulations.
Kill Switch: All Boats must be Equipped with a Lanyard Style Operable Kill Switch.
PFD: Approved PDF must be worn while Engine is Running and in Gear.

ELIGIBLE AREAS & BOUNDARIES
Eligible Waters: Rondeau Bay, Lake Erie and any Accessible Tributaries.
No Fishing in Harbor: Fishing not Permitted in the Erieau Harbor beyond the Gas Docks.
Speed Limits: No Wake Zone in Erieau Harbor & No Running on Plane in the Channel between the Bay & Lake.
Minimum Distance: Teams must keep 100 Feet away from other Boats who reached an area first.

FISHING METHODS & EQUIPMENT
Trolling: Trolling as a Technique for catching Fish is Not Permitted.
Rod Limit: One Rod / Line in Use in the Water per Person at any time.
Artificial Lures Only: Live & Dead Bait Not permitted (except Pork Rind).

PENALTIES
Short Fish: Fish Measuring less than 12” are Ineligible to be Weighed.
Short / Dead Fish: 1 LB Penalty for any Short or Dead Fish.
Big Fish Eligibility: Dead Bass not eligible for Big Fish Award.
Too Many Fish: Limit will be Culled down to 5 Removing Biggest Fish down.
Too Many Rods: Any Bass hooked while too many lines are in the water, it must be immediately released.
Late Penalty: 1 LB Penalty per each Minute late.
15 Minutes Late: Disqualification after 15 minutes.
Unsportsmanlike Conduct: Disqualification for any Proven Unsportsmanlike Conduct.
Other Rule Infractions: Disqualification for any other Proven Infraction.
Proof of Infraction: Concreate Physical or Video Evidence must be presented to be considered Proof of Infraction in the event of a Protest.
