    Ultrex mods

The LED indicator lights are blinding at night, so I put some red tape over them to dim them.

The plastic grommet has came off twice, and the second time, I guess it went in the lake. I put some silicone caulk adhesive on the replacement one before installing it.

The knob and nut for the shaft height adjustment fell off and luckily landed in the boat. I replaced the nut with a nyloc nut.

I'm always forgetting which way the Ultrex is pointing. I taped a reflective arrow on the head for direction. I may replace that with luminous glow in the dark tape later.

When I deploy the Ultrex, the cables always want to lean over the pedal and get in the way. I put a 1.5" piece of velcro tape near the bottom of the mount on the side, then wrapped some velcro around the cables beside it. When I deploy it, I push the cable over against the side of the mount where the velcro sticks together holding it out of the way. The velcro releases when pulling the Ultrex up to stow it. I may end up installing an U shape bracket for the cable to ride in while deployed.

I installed a durasafe lock, and a cool foot on it.

When you install the Ultrex ditch the phillips head bolts and buy ss hex head bolts and use anti sieze lubricate when tightening them to keep the threads from galling.

i would love to see your velcro setup. My cable blocks my graph when deployed and I have to move it behind the graph bracket each time.

All looks good. I did the same thing with a large yellow arrow on the head looks factory and should have come from the factor that way.

    Nice mods!

I would recommend using Brass Nylocks to prevent galling with the SS bolts.

Yes the tamer is adjusted so that the TM latch doesn't engage.

Advantage is the TM does not move at all in either direction.

    No bounce buster needed.

I added the pull cable to make it easier to disengage.
