Are there any other changes for 2019? Avx 1980 to at least 175hp?

What motor brand even makes a 130 hp motor anymore? I just looked on mercury, yamaha, evinrude, honda and suzukis websites and none of them make a 130 not even a 125. Evinrude and honda make a 135 Suzuki makes a 140 everyone else a 150 does that mean still stuck with 115?

What changes were made to the hull design to allow larger displacement outboard?
Without cross referencing weights of outboards, are the evinrudes and Honda’s in the 135 hp range similar in weight to the heaviest 115s?

    Evinrude H.O. 150 weight = 496
    Evinrude H.O. 115 weight = 390
    E-Tech 135 weight = 418
    Mercury ProXS 150 4 stroke = 456
    Mercury ProXS 115 4 stroke = 359
    Honda 135 weight = 478

The 135 Honda weighs 22#'s more than the 150 ProXS

The 135 E-tech only weighs 38#'s less than the 150 ProXS

Not sure an E-Tech 135 (being much heavier) would out perform a 115 ProXS or a Evinrude H.O. and the ProXS is the lighter of the 115's by 31 #'s

Other than the fact the 115 Evinrude H.O. looks better, the 115 ProXS might be the best motor to hang on it if they stick with a 135 rating.

    Thanks huckleberry.
That muddys the water, at least for me, since apparently weight is not the issue.

Still very limited options. Basically an etec being the best optio for that hp. Hondas are just way too heavy. Guess we can fo to australia mercury makes a 135 4 stroke over there. Lol

It's too bad Mercury doesn't make a 135 anymore. My first new boat was a 1998 171DC Champion with a 1998 Mercury 135 v6 that ran 62mph. What a great engine that was.

Probably just a flashing of the ecu and a new decal would take care of it. Perhaps VeXus will convince them to do it!

The old 135 Optimax would be a good motor for that boat, but I dont think Mercury has built that motor since the mid 2000's.

Grasping at straws...really just lipstick on a pig.

Just quit farting around and bump it to 150.

The problem there, then the 1980 looks like a real dog. They'd have to bump that to 200 to keep up.

For the life of me, how did this not come up in pre production meetings? It's clearly an issue now and they are trying to adjust.

Vexus had me researching tin boats and thinking about switching away from glass. Hell, I rejoined BBC just to see the pictures. Unfortunately, I saw what else is out there and expected the bar to be raised.

All the years in the business, all the hype, and what a real let down.

Maybe they know something we don’t about a 135hp engine.
