    Lake Gaston

What is all the black matter up slim or algae? I saw it in several pockets yesterday and it had the backs of them completely choked up.

That is pretty invasive stuff. Didn't know it was in Gaston. I heard about some NC lake, in the Raleigh area I think it was, that was completely choked up with that crap. Smaller lake than Gaston to be sure, but if it's the same stuff, it's damned near impossible to eradicate.

Goes to show that it can't be eradicated. The 2013 map is very accurate as it stands today five years later for Lyngbya but is no where near accurate for today's hydrilla areas.

They are working on experimental treatment in select areas. Have seen some improvement in PC.

I wonder why they quit doing the surveys? Man, wouldn't that be nice to have for all the big lakes in the area.....

We have already had our club tournament there for the year. We go there at night time to fish. You don't have to say it here and can certainly send a private message. I caught lots of fish down there this time but, they were small. I stayed from mouth of holly grove and eatons ferry. Should I have went farther down towards the dam? Seems like the water might be a little clearer there. I built some homemade spinner baits but, they only caught small fish with the rare exeption during the night when I could catch maybe a 2.5 lb fish. What am I missing about the place?
