You can use those foot pads from Harbor Freight, Lowes, etc. and cut to shape. Did that on a kid that didn't have the pad....

yep mine is a pain, the hooks stick in the foam, I just got me 6 stainless steel keyrings to run through each hole, then it will also hold the conservation style

Did that but they weren't stainless...lol Plus the rings got a little sprung when I put them on and couldn't get them to close tight.
I'm looking for a smaller clip to try

Yeah. Zip ties.
I wrapped one zip tie around the latch, and one zip tie through that, and a big key ring on that. I clip my cull tags on that under my lid. Not fancy but it works.

It’s a rubberized foam. It’s like the stuff those heavy workout/treadmill mats are made of... or like some of the anti-fatigue work mats.

Had the same Cal Cull clips that Drew has and they clipped so tight that my fat thumb couldn't push the release very easy to open them.
I sold them They are supposed to be the best, tho.
Got the Ardent clips to try. They're on back order from TW.

Can you pop that cull clip holder off easily? Anyone know what holds it on? Id rather just remove it than try to put the VT-2 in a less than ideal spot.

Unfortunately no - but all you would see is the hole through the rubber foam. I tried to pry the cull tag holder off but it was really on there. I drilled through it taking a good chunk of the flat lip out (where it mounts to the lid). Worked great.

So the tag holder is welded to the underside of the lid?? I'm guessing it welded.....
