    X19 with a 150 SHO?

Will I be making a mistake to order a X19 with a 150 SHO? What would this boat cruise at? I fish reservoirs a lot and don't care about doing 70, but I would like to have a decent hole shot and cruise at about 50 or so without running wide open all the time.... Only X19 I have spent much time in had a 200 SHO that my buddy had. I have no experience with the 150 on it and could not find good info on it. Also I had a tandem trailer one time and hated it. Will this boat tow OK with a single axle trailer? Thanks for the advice.

My X19 is a 2006 but the single axle trailer I bought new in 2016. I towed it from Illinois to Canada and back last summer with no issues. I plan on doing it again this summer. I have no issues so far and I really like how it tows. I have no experience with a tandem trailer or a 150 hp SHO but I do like my single axle trailer.

I have a carb'd 150 vmax on mine and I normally cruise around 45mph, I don't really wish I had more hp to be honest, like you I am not really a go fast guy.

If you want to cruise at 50mph without running wide open then you better get a 200. That is where I normally run at with my set up. When I had the 150 on the boat 54 mph was about it with a normal load. The single axle trailer will do fine. CJ

Single axle trailer will do fine with that boat. As for the 150HP motor, i couldn’t say. I would think that you would be ok with the 150 hp if your not looking for speed.

I went with the 175 SHO because of your same questions. You will get a little better hole shot, more mid range power, a little higher top end and cruises easy at 54-55. It should be fine with a single axle trailer, but I went with the dual axle. I like the look of a dual axle and the brakes. I think my tires have lasted longer also, after 3 years I just rotated them and they still look good.

My dealer said the difference in price between the 150 and 175 is 20 bucks dealer cost, so I'd get the 175.

Just got a X19 and since I'm a Mercury guy, had a 150 Pro XS hung on it. It's not broken in yet (about 4 hours on it), but will run 54-55 at 4900-5000 rpm's. Dealer swears I'm going increase 700+ rpm's after breakin. I'm hoping he's right, or something is amiss (wrong prop, etc.). Had a 200 Optimax(not a Pro XS) on a 20' Triton and it would run low 70's at 5600 rpm. Expected my X19/150 Pro XS to push 70 based on what I had before. Maybe I'm crazy, or something ain't right. Would think you could run 50 at 80% throttle with a 150 SHO after breakin... Should add that it has a 10" hydraulic jack plate.
