Phone questions, any tech guys?

I have a samsung galaxy core prime and I like it just fine. However, it has started acting up some, probably because I have had it so long. For example, some people aren't getting texts that I send them, and it won't connect to my laptop anymore to import pictures. I figure it is just time for a new phone. I looked at the galaxy j7 and the galaxy s7, but I am afraid I will be disappointed since I am used to the core prime. I like how mine flashes different colors for different notifications and I don't know if those can do that. Anyone have any advice?

Its probably time for a hard reset. Its old and full of useless update info like most phones that are 3+ years old.

Don't know about a samsung. But any time I have any trouble with my I phone. I just turn off the power for a couple minutes and then turn it back on.
