Two days ago I idle up to the ramp's floating dock ramp and there is a woman (70ish) and her dog walking onto the dock. The dog looks like a golden retriever/lab mix and is about 120 pounds. She tells me her dog is 13 years old and never been in the water, the lady is wondering if she can swim. I say, well, at 13 yrs old and her current weight, I don't think you can teach that old dog a new trick, her time has passed.
The lady says "let's see" and pushes her off the dock into 6 foot of water! That dog sank faster than Roseanne Barr's career.....she is not visible in the stained water. I am about to jump in when the dog's head appears as it is TRYING to doggie paddle for its life. Well the dog sinks a little bit and floats under the floating dock, I reach under and grab the collar and pull her away, and I am HOPING she knows I am trying to save her unlike her master!
I drag that dog up onto the dock and while I have been around dogs my whole life, this is the first time I have seen a dog make a facial expression of "what the hell just happened?!?!?!?!?"
So the lady says 'thank u, I guess she can't swim".....and I say "well, can u?" and push her in.....ok, just kidding......but I am so annoyed at this lady I just walk to my truck......and what does she do next? She takes her dog down the ramp and tries to get her to go back in........
Needless to say the dog backed away.....
