    188vs set up

    Hello everyone,

    I have a 2006 188vs with a 06 175hp optimax. With a 23p 3 blade tempust, 8 inch bobs jack plate and 2 blades.

Anyone with this set up run a different prop to get you on plane? I cant really afford to buy a bunch of props.

    Thanks for the info.

Something's really wrong with your setup. Where is your jackplate set, prop to pad? What kind of shape is your prop in? You should be running in the 60s.

Which brackets are you using to mount those blades to the jackplate?

Any holes open in your prop? Cheaper to mess with its ventalation than to buy other props.

When water temp is colder i can get 63 at 5700.

Set to 3.50 prop to pad.

Im using the side mounts that bolt up to the jack plate.

And ive taking out those plugs on the prop. With 3 out i over heat and CANT get on plane at all.

2 out i run hot as well. Can get on plane if someone stands on tge trolling motor.

1 out im not much better.

I totally agree. That performance would be weak for a 150 on that hull. I’d look at possible engine problems.

Them plugs have nothing to do with overheating...something is wrong with your power plant.
