New fish finder

Trying to get my ranger set up for high school bass fishing next year and also some local tournaments with the boys. Some of these are at night and am really missing my GPS more than I thought. My wonderful family gave me 500 dollars towards a new fish finder and was wondering what people are running in that price range.
Also would like to do through hull and wondering about placement and what to do with old transducer. 2000 520 dvx. Thank you in advance everyone one here is a great resource and I can not wait when I can help instead of ask a bunch of questions.

I would bet you could get a decent used unit off of the for sale boards in here for that. Lots of good guys on here selling quality stuff!

Which finder does the old bilge transducer belong to?

That $500 would go a long way toward a Helix 10 SI that I am thinking about selling....

Thanks every one. Not going to put a si on it so not want a hole in the tramsom. The old one is a old humminbird ns 25.
