I would replace the flappers first. Flapper kit with 2 flappers cost about $5.00. Usually fixes the problem and cheaper and easier than trying to replace entire valve. There were two types of flapper on mine, one that fit over a metal reinforcing bar and was more rigid and the second was just plain rubber. My dealer sold both types separately.

I would also add to learn how your valves work and what the flappers do in various positions. Previous owner had put new valves in and the flappers did not line up to the old Fill/Empty slide control. I had to reposition flappers so they would work correctly. There are good diagrams on the Flow-rite website.

I have that problem from time to time, I take the screens off the hull and blast water up the fill pipe with a hose. open close the valve a few times, blast them again. sometimes there is sand and other junk that gets stuck in them. I did have to replace the port flapper, takes more time taking the oil tank and that plate out than doing the flapper job.

If you don't like the "version" you have now, take this as an opportunity to change it by positioning the flappers as indicated for each of the 5 systems in the instructions. The valve bodies seem to be identical, it's simply the placement of the flappers that creates the different operating systems. Of course lever position labels will likely become obsolete, but that's nothing a label maker won't fix!
