Do the Merc 4 stroke props like to be vent or not?
Do the Merc 4 stroke props like to be vent or not?
I found on my 2015 Z118C with Mercury 150HP, 4 Stroke that it didn't make much difference because of the torque on low end. Mercury racing helped me land on the right prop and told me the same thing. The four strokes don't rely on RPM's for low end power like a 2 stroke does.

58 with a 21 pitch dang! That’s some super low slip!
I am running a 22 pitch 4 blade......no vent holes........does a great job!

Thank you.
PVS is not normally needed (though there is usually no harm in adding ventillation if it seems to help). Whatever combination suits your HOLESHOT is what's best.
