    Propping 2013 Mercury 150 4 stroke

    Do the Merc 4 stroke props like to be vent or not?

    I found on my 2015 Z118C with Mercury 150HP, 4 Stroke that it didn't make much difference because of the torque on low end. Mercury racing helped me land on the right prop and told me the same thing. The four strokes don't rely on RPM's for low end power like a 2 stroke does.

    Which prop are you running or use during your eval above?

    I ended up settling on a Bravo 1, FS 21P. I was after quickest hole shot rather than WOT. WOT is 58GPS and I have a good load in the boat.

    I am running a 22 pitch 4 blade......no vent holes........does a great job!

    PVS is not normally needed (though there is usually no harm in adding ventillation if it seems to help). Whatever combination suits your HOLESHOT is what's best.
