    going on Vacation

I need something for the luggage rack on top on the suburban for when I go on Vacaation. I don't want to spend $300 on the ones I have seen. What's a good one ya'll have used?

The ones I have seen are even more than that. Thule or Yakima makes the best ones.

i would look at one of the waterproof bags, especially if everything is already in luggage.. If i wasn't towing i'd also invest in a hitch rack for that bag rather than put it on the roof.
you must be staying a while to need more luggage room than the back of the burban will hold

That's what I was thinking!! we have an Explorer and have had Expeditions in the past. We use a hitch haul carrier for coolers, etc that are bulkier than just luggage.

Daughter has one of those waterproof bags to put on top of her explorer and went to Texas and back, every thing stayed in place and dry.

The hitch racks are nice. I picked one up this spring.

The hitch rack is nice but you have to make sure you really strap everything down tight... trust me, I learned the hard way
I think I would check Craigslist in your area for a used roof rack, seems like the kind of thing that would take up a lot of room causing people to sell them cheap after using them a few times.
