Just got back from there late last week. My girlfriends grandmother has a house there in port Clinton so I didn't stay in a hotel but there close to Jolly Rogers ( a popular eating place ) there are a few hotels there and there where guys with boats hooked up in the parking lot. So I assume most of them are boat friendly. You can get on google maps or apple maps and find jolly Rogers and you will see the hotels

Peninsula Motel. Nothing fancy but super clean and cater to fisherman.
There is a more modern motel over by Cedar Point, on the east side of Sandusky. For a family trip, if your family is anything like mine, they will be more excited by Cedar Point than by what’s over in Port Clinton area.
