I have a 2000 Johnson 200 carb starts and runs great but needs to warm up before taking off.. after take off it runs fine, but if I stop to fish longer than a hour or so I need to let the engine warm up again before I got to take off.. has anyone ever had this issue before..
i would start with thermostats from what you are describing.

Model number? Be more descriptive. What exactly does it do while cold????? Spit-sputter-bog-no power-miss and shake-feel sluggish???????? I never have had that issue since I let mine warm up before blasting off or after sitting on a fishing hole a spell..
