    Manual jack plate size

I have a 92 pro craft 185 dual console with a 97 Evinrude 150. Thinking of putting a manual jack plate on it and was looking for recommendations on what size

6" rapid jack will be the best.
Do NOT think you're getting some deal on a POS Rite Hite, those are pure junk.

Moe setback will not be better, and your steering cables won't stretch to fit it.

So anything bigger than a 6 inch my cables won't reach?

Not likely. And most hulls of that vintage have wood in the transom and it might not hold up to a lot of setback.
