Have a 1995 Pantera 2 with a 1989 Mercury XR4 150 with a 20" motor shaft length. If I wanted to upgrade to a 200 hp outboard does the shaft length have to be 20" or can I go with 25" length? Curious because I see a lot of 25" shaft length outboards.

The transom is built for 20" shaft outboards.
