I have multiple rock chips in my cowling paint. Has anybody repaired this kind of damage? I’ve found the color from ColorRite.

Yes, many times. does you touch up paint require clear or is it a single stage? CJ

It’s a 3 part. Base, color, clear according to the site.
Well you would need to use the color first then the clear has to be put on over the top. I would not mess with the base. They actually gave you 3 different paints?. I try to get all my touchup in single stage, then a light color sand and buff usually makes the chip disappear. with a cowl you can adjust the chip to where it is flat to fill the chip with paint or clear, wait till it dries then color sand and buff. I bought a cover from RMP for no other reason than towing. It comes off at the ramp.

I use the Tuff Skinz vented cover, and it stays on all the time.

The RMP cover is vented as well- but I found that it absolutely affects performance. Not much- but a little. Easiest test is to plane out and do not trim up at all. Record top RPM/speed. Take cover off and do the same- Both will be a bit higher without cover. Takes about ten minutes. Now, I'm not saying it does anything whatsoever to the motor negatively- I just believe it restricts air flow the tiniest bit and that makes a bit of difference in performance. (or at least it did on my 250 the day I tested it) Just my .02
