    Function of these two switches.

Can someone who is very well versed in the HPDI engines tell me what these switches are and explain to me the function of each:

    Part 15 and Part 19. https://www.simyamaha.com/category_s...rt-category=32

I know one is the Neutral switch and the other... ? Which is which?

I have a problem with my motor sometimes dying when shifted to neutral.

The neutral safety switch is installed in the control box. Its purpose is to prohibit the motor from being cranked if the throttle is in gear.

On the motor is the shift cut switch (#19) and the shift position switch (#15).

The shift cut switch activates when the motor is running and being taken from in gear to out of gear (neutral). It makes the lower unit be able to shift gears more easily.

The shift position switch tells the ECU that the motor is either in gear or out of gear. Various cylinders are made to fire or not fire depending upon RPM and the position of the switch.

Thank you for the explanation. I believe there is a chance the shift cut switch isn't operating properly or my shift cable is bad.
